Honoring All Who Served
US Army USMC US Navy USAF USCG

On Friday, November 11, our students will attend a 35 minute assembly focused on the significance of Veterans Day and the sacrifices of veterans which have sustained the freedoms and liberties enjoyed by Americans. The best part of our effort is honoring veterans who are related to our students, staff, and community. We would like to invite any veteran related to any one of our LSHS staff members or students to join us in the assembly. A related veteran can include a parent, grandparent, brother, sister, aunt, or uncle. Veterans in the Lee’s Summit community are invited to attend as well. The assembly will include the LSHS AFJROTC Color Guard and Cadets, performances by LSHS Symphonic Band, LSHS Sounds of Summit, and the LSHS Concert Choir. This year’s keynote address will be delivered by special guest Col. Mark Johnson, Special Forces (Airborne). We will project a slideshow/video with patriotic student artwork and photos of veterans submitted by students, staff, and the community.

To include a veteran in our slide show, please complete this form and send two digital photos of the veteran to sarah.eubank@lsr7.net. Our deadline to be included in the slide/video portion of the assembly is Monday, November 7th. We want to include as many veterans as we can, but we are not able to add late photo or slide information entries this year due to required video production time. If you submitted information last year, we may already have a slide for your veteran, just let us know! LSHS will hold one combined assembly for the entire student body this year. Veterans and any guests should plan to report to the Brockman Lecture Hall by 9:20 am. All visitors joining us in the assembly should complete this form to pre-register as a guest.
